Can I download the 3D software?
« on: April 09, 2011, 12:29:16 AM »
Can anyone tell me whether I can download the software for the Radarbox 3D? I have tried to install the software on my new laptop but my CD seems to be scratched. The link to the file ANRB403.exe on the website is not for the 3D version despite it being under the 3D title.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Ok, further to my last, I managed to get my CD working and installed the program but it is still not the 3D version, despite the fact that when I installed it on my other computer it was! I thought this might be because I had the non-3D version installed. I assumed the CD would install the 3D version in parallel or even on top of the other version but it did not. I uninstalled it and tried again, installing it from scratch from the CD but still it is not the 3D version! The top title of the window says "AirNav RadarBox - 4.03" whereas on my other computer it says AirNav RadarBox 3D - 4.03.

Any idea how to get the 3D version installed? With my radarbox plugged in to the non- 3D version, the software does not even recognise the hardware.

So much for nice and easy....its been weeks and has cost me 800 quid and I am still not getting anywhere. I am almost ready to throw the entire lot out of my window.

If you have bought and paid for 3D, contact support at [email protected] giving your PGNRB number and they will set it up.

If you have 4.03 installed, 3D is included but needs Airnav to do something their end and once you contact then giving the details they require you should then be up and running no problems.

Regarding non recognition ofthe hardware, if it is 64bit version of windows you are using, have you downloaed and installed the correct drivers from the support page?

Thanks Alan,

First thing was to get windows to search for the driver for the radarBox which for some reason was not recognised by Windows 7. (Another reason I hate windows!). So anyway I have the box up and running now. Strange thing is that when the program is loading, it loads the 3D version with the google map button visible. As soon as I have logged in, it all vanishes and goes to the 2D version!

I believe that with windows 7 you load the Radarbox software then when the installation process is complete, you attach the USB cable and it then searches for and installs the driver

The software goes into 2D by default on starting and if you want 3D you have to click the 3D view button on top right of the screen above the map display.

Hi Alan,

Unfortunately windows 7 searched for the drivers online and not on my CD for some reason. Had to figure out how to manually search for a driver. Anyway thats done now.

The 3D button does not feature on my program since it is 4.03 and not 3D 4.03 Although curiously the 3D map button comes up during the loading process but then vanishes once the program is loaded!

4.03 is the 3D version.  You have however to contact support on the address I sent for them to authorise, then it should be available.

Thanks Alan. I have sent them an e-mail last night.

It is odd though, when I installed it on my Mac, it worked in the 3D version without me having to do anything! When I installed it on my new laptop using the same CD, it doesn't work!

AirNav only allow two separate installations per RadarBox, but are happy to extend the quota if you contact them.

Just an aside for future reference. I noted an issue with my Radarbox software this week. I upgrade a secondary computer from Vista to Windows 7 this week. After the upgrade, the hardware connection to the box went intermittent with no blue USB light activity and the "hardware connected" indicator going red over 20-30 seconds or so, then going back to green.
I fixed the issue by uninstalling the hardware drivers and reinstalling them.
