New RadarBox Database Released - 2011/Feb/23
« on: February 23, 2011, 02:26:25 PM »
A new navdata.db3 installation is now available:
http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/DBUpdater/ANRBDBUpdater20110222.exe

This has been the result of an amazing work developed by our database updaters volunteer team. The database now contains over 100 thousand aircraft records.

Notes:
1- This installer copies your existing navdata.db3 file to navdata-backup.db3 so you can keep a copy/backup of your previous file;
2- It then replaces your existing database with the new one;
3- A new updated airport database is included;
4- It is important to note that these periodic navdata.db3 releases do not intend to replace the work we will do on the RadarBox client application which will include an auto-update feature and some other requests made by our users and database updaters team;

Hope you enjoy it.

Has the airline table been updated or just the aircraft?

Aircraft and Flight Number updated.
Airport table reverted to the one shipped with the RadarBox software but with some changes. Airline table similar to the one found in the last udpate.

Just a heads-up for the next version, but 42 aircraft in this new database still have invalid ICAO Type codes (field AT), and there are around 611 aircraft types without silhouettes available.

Tarbat - if you've had a look at DBv2 can you kindly confirm that if I dowload this, whilst restoring some sense to the aiports db it will simultaniously destroy my routes database again?

Routes database has been updated too.
Tarbat: please keep your reports coming as week after week we will be correcting all the pending problems and improve the entire system.

There are over 340,000 routes in the new database, but I can't vouch for their accuracy.  The few that I've checked, such as Loganair flights, look correct.

ok, this is, for me at least, again a DB that covers most of my use.
thanks for that, i just have the similar question as Bratters ; if i install further updates in future, will the routes i update manualy in between updates, be overwritten by the latest update ?

Thanks for the reply Tarbat - since the last job virtually wiped me out routeswise,  I've dowloaded over 4500 routes from FD. This is not a decision to take lightly.

They will be overwritten. This is an update of the whole database file.

As mentioned in point 4 in the first post, this is not designed for allowing the auto update and any changes you have done manually.

The navdata update is something that users wanted who were starting with a fresh database or those who haven't done manual changes.

thanks for the explenation, then i'll consider this a new start for a DB, will look in future what the best option for update is ( i'm not all that fanatic about DB, but the routes section is important to me )
anyway, thanks again for the job done

Unfortunately also in this new version I noticed  some mistakes regarding routs....some routs are missing or are wrong, and I noticed also a mistake regarding some silhouettes : for examp. AT72 appear with a silhouette of AT75...
But the big problem still that I have to  update manualy the routs , between updates :(
All the best !

Thanks for that posting Dana which helps me decide what to do about my routes.

After consideration, I'll stick with my FL data and skip the latest download.

Given time I'm sure one can get used to KJFK - EHAM being Jamaica to Haarlemmermeer, to mention but one.

Well done AirNav & updaters. BTW, I have just under 96,000 aircraft in the database according to Explorer.
