Steve

Here are a couple of pointers that may be of assistance, as I had great difficulty on Vista also (and Alan was no use at all!!! ;-)..........eh Alan?)

Make sure you only have one version of RadarBox on your machine - id three even though I only regularly use one, and it downloaded ok to whichever version I pointed it to, but on opening , somehow overwrote itself.

Secondly, if this doesn't work, take a backup of you current data files such as Mylog/logos/pictures etc (just in case you ant to re-use them), and then do a complete re-install of RadarBox

took me about seven or eight go's until it worked, after trying various options, and the only way it worked was via a re-install.

As Alan will no doubt concur, if I can get it to work, anyone can!!

Good luck

Rich

Hmm, Help needed please.

I have read this thread thoroughly - aware that there are problems with missing 3D skins if I go ahead - can live with that (will be sorted in due course hopefully).

Have tried installing the new database - made no difference - presumably the file got lost in my Windows Vista 'virtual' black hole?

Just used 'Revo uninstaller' to try to completely remove all instances of ANRB from my system.

Then reinstalled ANRB 4.03 into a root directory (C:/Air Nav 3D) rather than default - I guess some registry settings were not removed as on re-starting it remembered my home lat/long.

Trying to run ANRBDUpdater20110222.exe to update my database - up-to-date tie-ups more important than 3D skins.

However, when I run this file, it obstinately wants to create a new folder under program files.

How do I get this new update to install in correct folder?

Any help much appreciated

Good morning Alan & Rich.

Drama over.
I gave up last night trying to download the new database and switched the computer off(told by wife!!!).

Switched back on this morning and as by magic the new database is their. I think the word user error might fit here.

Gentlemen thank you for your help and time last night.

Glad you got it working Steve.  Computers are great when they work correctly.

Same problem here as Pinza.

When the Setup screen says "Click Install to continue with the installation, or Back if you want to review or change any settings." What does it mean?

My installation is at C:\AirNav Systems, so I hit the Back button to change teh settings and I am just returned to the "Welcome....Setup" page.

So how can I install the new database?

I'm sure there is a simple explanation, but please help.

Still struggling to install new database!

Arthur (artnco) echoes my problems in post above.

Now have further woe - when starting ANRB I am met with the message "DB is corrupted: NavData.db3. No valid copies exist"

But program begins to load and starts successfully - presumably finding old (but uncorrupted) NavData.db3 somewhere on my system!

Any ideas? Getting rather confused/frustrated now!

Cheers
Chris

Had no joy getting installer to install update to where I wanted it to - let it create a new folder under program files and then cut and pasted relevant file to my intended directory.

Seems to be working okay - but one stange result:

Yep, I've lost 3D skins on Ryanair, easyjet and others (as pre-warned) BUT have suddenly got BA planes on Shuttle flights displaying correctly (in 3D) for the first time! Has anyone else noticed this?

AirNav have promised a solution to 3D problems "within the next 24 hours" - I think they also need to address the problem of the updater installer not allowing the user to specify where the update goes.

We have created a new navdata.db3 which is being tested by two RadarBox 3D users. Stby for further news.

Chris,

Above came from AN on February the 25th. Today, it is March 4th and we are still awaiting the the new db.3 to replace the new db.3 unless it appears somewhere else !
