Been studying this site for days now and find it fascinating and in real time, just been tracking Odyssey looking for shipwrecks together with its track patterns, will not post pics because it is not Air nav ship trax.I am an Air Nav man but becoming hooked on AIS.P/S a good site for all around Britain.

Dear jannuh
This project starts in 2008 (3 month early of my first post).
It cover the Piraeus port first and then the Aegean Sea.
Read the flowing link, of course it's a free of charge :)
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/faq.aspx?level1=160&language=_EN
Especially this paragraph:

The project is currently hosted by the Department of Product and Systems Design Enginnering, University of the Aegean, Greece. The initial data collection is based on the Automatic Identification System (AIS). We are constantly looking for partners to take part in the community. They will have to install an AIS receiver and share the data of their area with us, in order to cover more areas and ports around the world.

Regards

jannuh

Sorry Chris, at that time it was starting at the Aegean Sea.
I upload data since 2009 to them (Inland Shipping, S.E. Netherlands)
