Auto Report
« on: January 07, 2011, 03:21:15 AM »
HI,

Like many, I got an Airnav RB over the holidays. Works great but I am still trying to figure all the stuff that it can do.

I am having a problem with the auto reporting feature. I get an error:-
"Could not connect to SMTP server to send auto-report"

I am sure I have not set something up, but what?

Any ideas?

Thanks

What version are you using? Sounds like you may be using an older version of the software.

What sort of answer is that?

The guy said he had got a RadarBox over the holidays. If it's new then how can the software be old?

Tonka,

The boxes are not produced on demand. Many are on the shelves of shops that were built in 2009 or early 2010, some people buy second hand. They won't have the latest software version installed.

The SMTP issue was an issue in earlier versions whereby some customers ISPs would not allow them to connect to our SMTP as they would only allow email through there servers. In the latest version this was changed so SMTP connection wasn't needed.

The latest versions are free to all customers to download from:

Hope that explains things.

Hi Alex,
A very valid and fair question - firstly, we don't know if it's a brand new unit or 2nd hand - secondly, if it's a BNIB RB, it may be older stock and have been shipped with version 2.10 on the CD.

Hi g1000cfi,
Latest version of software is v.3.13 for non 3D, and v4.03 for 3D version, what version of RB software are you using, and which version of Windows are you running and do have Outlook installed?

Try these links and download latest software versions

Hi Gerry, your post sounds and feels very much like that paddy pest Pat, who's previously posted under various other user names, avatars - if you're not him, my sincere apologies for thinking that!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

My RB was NIB - Pro version. It did have a sticker on the outside stating "eligible for a free upgrade to Radarbox 2010", however I not been able to get that to work, which is another subject altogether!

Help tab states Software 2.01 and Firmware as 02.03.1

I will download the new software and give it a try.

Hi g1000cfi, what operating system are you using - Win XP, 7 32 -64, or what?   2.01 is old software, download the full 3.13 version of ANRB from my link above, if you get problems, I'm sure one of us in here will be able to assist and get you sorted, but we do need you to give us the info so we can help.

I just got the RB a few days ago.....It took me ages to get It working on my desktop PC (so much for it working straight out the box), I bought a new netbook pc last night so I can take my RB mobile to my local airport, I cannot get It to work on the netbook.......VERY FRUSTRATED :(

telstar,

Contact us directly describing the issue or make a seperate topic, its usually a very simple install though on some machines with various settings it needs to be run as admin.

Telstar, what OS are you using on your netbook, if its Windows 7 have you downloaded the Win7 drivers.  If not download them from here.  http://www.airnavsystems.com/download/ANRB/drivers/ANRB64bitDrivers.zip
