Heathrow .out file
« on: December 28, 2010, 12:01:32 PM »
Hi Guys,

Seasons greetings to you all.

I've been looking at my LHR .out file and it's pretty basic really, does anyone know where I can find one which has more detail at all please?

I'm also looking at my map colours at present to see if I can make it better on the eye...I need to use reading glasses every time I look at the screen but even so find the RB superb in keeping me busy although still need to grasp the data base info to keep things up to date.

All the very best to you all for the New Year.

Best regards Dave.

Best regards Dave.

Hi Dave

Detailed outlines can be found on the SBS-Resources site here: http://sbs-resources.com/downloads/index.html

Download and install the full version, but don't bother running the installed program. Just use Windows Explorer to copy the outlines you want from the SBS-resources/Files/Airfields folder to the AirNav RadarBox/Outlines folder.

It is best to move the existing RadarBox outline files to a temporary folder first, to avoid getting duplicate outlines.

Try the SBS Resources outlines.   Instructions at http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=2897

Will give you something like this for Heathrow

Hi Rod and Tarbat,

Wow, that's fantastic, really appreciate the quick reply very much indeed.

I'll be looking at these this afternoon and the LHR detailed 'out' is just the ticket.

I'll pop a screen shot up when it's all sorted.

All the best fella's cheers Dave.

Best regards Dave.

Good luck with that - here's a handy hint:

As RadarBox won't find the outline files if they are in sub-folders, you need to move them out of the SBS sub-folders.

An easy way of doing that is to go to the SBS Airfields folder and then do a search for *.OUT  You can then copy the resulting file list in one go to the RadarBox Outlines folder.

Hi Rod,

With your help and Tarbats, I've managed to update the out files (all to high res) and now have the Heathrow version as shown by Tarbats post.

Been a nice afternoon 'fiddling' with my ANRB prog and really appreciate your assistance on this.

All the best and thank you, Dave.
Best regards Dave.

Well done, Dave - pleased to help.

And don't forget that I do low-res outlines (such as your original Heathrow one) for hundreds of different airfields that aren't covered by the high-res ones. You can check them out here if you're interested http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=5405.0
