EC-225 Full Emergency
« on: November 30, 2010, 10:25:42 AM »
CHC Scotia EC-225, G-NNCY (Helibus 23A) just landed safely at Kirkwall (EGPA) - which was snow closed - after declaring full emergency.  Pilot reported severe vibration and was anticipating a rear rotor control surface failure on touchdown.

Hello

That is most interesting. I was listening but didn't hear him since he was too low and at the other side of hills but I did see it on the network. This is CHC Scotia's newest helicopter as well is it not?

Yes, seems to be listed as registered 2010.  I lost his ADS-B signal once he dropped below 550 ft on approach to r/w 27 but vhf comms were still clear and can also hear the uhf cross-coupled tx.
