Thanks for that Alan.
I am sure i have little gremlins in my computer messing with me ?
The VP-CVW did not populate when received but you say its already in the database. Recently i have left them a day or so before checking with you and the majority end up populating.

Today i occasionally tried populating mylog and checking Explorer but still nothing came up for it or the Manx. Then as soon as i post a log about it  then populates. Wierd ?

I think i will go back to leaving it a day before checking with you.

Brian I only entered the Manx into the database around 1350 so no need to worry.

Hi Alan
Thats the one that confuses me.

a) it did not populate when received but its a valid ModeS
b) i checked it in explorer and not found.
c) i request a populate in mylog a number of times and still no joy.

Then i ask you to check it and then i went back into mylog and asked it to populate and well and behold it populated.

Thanks anyway since you kindly help me clear the majority of my unkowns i only have these odd ones to sort out.

Cant think of an answer why, Brian, I am sure there will be one just i cant thnk of it.  To auto-populate it has to be on either myflights or the network at the time you click on it and it can take up to around a minute on occasions to populate dependant on things such a how busy is the server etc.

If you try to populate in Mylog and it is in myflights at that time it wont populate until it leaves myflights.

Hi

AE2FF4 callsign S2769 out over dover this morning.

Have been informed it is

82-8000 VC25A USMil

Brian

They have done this a few times recently, usually when POTUS has looked to undertake surprise visits to operational theatres.  I believe that on occasions when outbound from the US they have even falsified the flightplan saying the aircraft is a C-37 Gulfstream or C-32 757 to increase security.

As if by magic.......

Would be interesting to know what aircraft type SAM2769 was flight-planned as.

AE447F also flew over yesterday and was noted on a number of reports on the mode-s forum and was reported as  Gulfstream.

I may be wrong but i think the back-up A/C may have been

AE47CB CALLSIGN S1995 which passed over about 1.5 hrs later.

I think you are correct Brian, also using a tactical code.

Only a guess, but this may be the E-4 following POTUS.  If so a likely destination would be Manas AFB Kyrgyzstan
