Hi Alan

Just a minor point - There was a "tactical code" on the network this morning (3F84A6) that returned "TACTICAL - Tactical code - various F15 Aircraft", yet it was calling "GAF671" clearly German Air Force, presumably a Challenger or a Medevac A310.

Would it not be more representative to just use "Tactical" and ignore the possible confusion by quoting aircraft type?

Not earth shattering I know, but just a thought - I'm sure this is has been discussed/debated to death already?

Regards

Rich

Morning Rich,

3F84A6 is in the d/b with the AT detailed as "Tactical Code - Various CL60" and with CL60 as the AI.  Guess its the ICAO bug in action.

Alan

Ok - sorry to bother you - for some reason my navdata was pulling back reference to F15's ???

ACW367

Yes this is a known bug, where the registration field is the same for multiple records, it pulls the first one it finds with that registration, for display next to the photo, rather than referring to the correct hex code.  It displays correctly however in mylog.

When the system was developed it was not envisaged that there would be widespread tactical coding or miscoding.  We have requested that in future versions this area uses hex code instead of registration as the primary reference point.
