I acknowledge the error in the Skyhawk spelling which has been corrected.
However the hex AD4DB3 = N9563A which the FAA shows to be the Cessna concerned.
Unfortunately the initial reply sent only shows a little information giving aircraft details which show a spelling mistake, no where on it does it mention a height read out. This additional information which was known but not passed origionally would have indicated tha tthe aircraft broadcasting the hex was not the rightful owner of that hex.
It is only the last reply, around 3 hours later which mentions 22,000 feet. This additional information leads me to assume that either an aircraft is intenionally using the wrong hex or is miscoding accidenally which masks its true identity. The callsign Flex 81 indicates to me that the former may be true in this case.
The code being broadcast however links to the registration given to the aircraft concerned, even if in this case the wrong hex was being broadcast by another aircraft.
Just been on the mode-s forum and the following has been given by Dave Reid which will answer the questions :
"Looks likely to be an octal miscode for AE2DB3. The latter code was noted
last week as JUNGLE81"
Likely to be an F15
My reply may also highlight a consequence of only passing partial information when making a request.
