If you make a backup of these 2 databases every now and then, if your working databases do get corrupted, you can try replacing the working databases with the backups.  This might save you time in doing a full unistall and reinstall and will preserve your data to the time of the last backup.

MyLog.db3
NavData.db3

Both in C:\Program Files\AirNav Systems\AirNav RadarBox 2008\Data

I back up my databases quite often as I'm playing around with them using other SQL programs - SQLite Database Browser and SQLite Maestro.

I've done some fairly major changes to both these db3 files, but I've never got to the point where RadarBox won't run.

Be advised that I'm no SQL expert, so it's your risk if you try this :-)

Deadcalm - make sure you remove all the files/folders.  You should save your Data file as it propably will not be corrupted.  You can then replace the new data files with your existing ones.

No, you do not need internet on all the time.  RadarBox runs well very without the internet.

But if you do have internet, and the internet connection drops even for a very short time, then RadarBox locks up on some computers.

However, without the internet, you will get no Network data and no autopopulate of aircraft details.

If RadarBox does freeze, always use the red X in the top right of the RadarBox window to shut down if you can - usually this still works.

I have used this method to close RadarBox and I have never had an SQL error message or a corrupted SQL file.

Just a question which anti-virus are you using? I seem to be having occasional problems waking my computer after it has gone to standby since I installed Kaspersky and have to force the program which was running to close.

This hasn't happened with RB yet though

I use AVG Free - because it's FREE :-)

I don't think that we've done a poll to see what people are using.

Patrick, I think the reason for your freezing issues may be an interrupted internet connection.  Are you working wireless?

We already have our main programmers correcting this issue. It is already identifies and easy to correct. We are waiting for updates and bug reports so we can release a patch in 1 to 2 weeks time.

My machine was working for 6 hours with no prloblems and then when I went to check an aircraft in my log and it froze on me. I have the wirless USB dongle on the table next to me and the connected light was showing all the time. If a disconnection took place it must have lasted only milliseconds - too quick to see but long enough for RB to detect and throw a wobbly :-(

Hello,
Good News that AirNav have identify the problem.

i have make some tests, with screenshots, to understand how and when
RB freezing, and it's not easy .... (for helping AirNav, but if they have found the problem)

There is a "connection" with internet, but i don't think thats about slower
and disconnect, but rather request who have no answer.

Thats "funny" to observe that performance make slower with at first
information in the interface freez, after flight positions but not the trail
line and in the end all the system (and always with 1 processing photo or
info request ....).

in this "period" if we want to acces to another function, freezing is immediat.

No difference about computer performance (on the scope), when RB start freezing the processus goes to 00.

i think it's only with specific request, but i'm happy that AirNav correcting the isssue and waiting for the release.

Thanks for your hard job

i confirm the "bug" about local time in the report , and i my opinion
it will be better if ALL the date and time are on local time with
this option (screenshot, recorder, files ...).

I've had RB2008 freezing with a white screen the last 2 nights.  I have recording running at the time, and each night the last recording entry was at 3:25am.  With the 5 minute delay, that means RB2008 failed at exactly 3:30am each night.

Looking in the system log, I have the same event at 3:30am both nights:

"The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service entered the stopped state."

Yesterday night, I raised screen saver ... but this morning freezer.Io think that would have been better off some functions, but a reliable operation.
