Anyone catch any of the flypast at Fairford today? Lots of opportunities for RAF codes.

Does anyone know why this Islander could be flying round the North East? It shows as Northolt station flight but has been around here since 17th June until now, always showing same callsign.

ZH536 is used for communication monitoring, so it's probably monitoring your Radarbox!!!

Also rumoured to have some involvement in CIA Rendition flights - see the story entitles "Islanders Ahoy – Spies in the Sky!" at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan-turnbull/cia-rendition.htm

Do you reckon it's sending out spoof ADS-B info? - look at this extract from MyLog (we get it regularly showing up here in Lancashire too).

Okay, maybe not the most interesting aircraft in the world, but I've spent all morning listening to these trainees do landings at Kinloss.  It's great listening on the Kinloss PAR frequency as the controller talks them in.  Some of their approaches haven't exactly been text-book, but the controller still keeps a very calm voice as he/she says "go around"!!

I'm used to seeing Nato and RAF AWACS around here but something a bit more unusual is this French AF one, more than likely training up around Newcastle airport and the Northumberland area.

Must be getting some practice for the airshow, we have an RNEthAF F16 doing some runs. Also just got the 2 RN Sea Kings for the role demonstration off RFA Lyme Bay.

Just spotted a new Nimrod with RAF serial but with UK civilian mode s code. Along with some other RAF types.

Yes, I saw (and heard) that Nimrod (400010) with registration ZJ518 back in June out of Kinloss.  Believed to be an MRA.4 testing with BAE Systems before delivery to the RAF, hence the non-RAF code.

Have you read this:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=645.0

The company search is only as good as the data in the database.  Try setting the quickfilter to:

ModeS = 43C*

This will show all British Military aircraft in the list - they won't show on the map as they don't give out their positions.

Hi Allocator

I have been play with wildcards like 43C* but because things are running so slow it is difficult to see the results.  Until I saw the comment above, by Besty8 I did not realize, Filter - Show all - ADS only, excisted.  Now I can switch filters of without re booting.  OK 43C* works - Thank for that.  My on going concern is about slow operation and hanging up.  So when I saw UK Navy as an option that I do not have I again wondered about my system.  I am now at 6500 aircaft again but I am not sure that is my poblem as deleting them does not fix it.  Re loading does - for a while.  Re loading causes mem usage to be in the order 40000K.  Over time this increases to 140000 to 155000k and things get very slow.  Thanks again for the help so far.
