traffic increase
« on: August 20, 2010, 07:15:17 AM »
Morning all, just an observation. Anyone noticed an increase in traffic recently over the UK?  Have compared this weeks intercepts with previous traffic and things seem to be on their way up. No improvement noted in conditions on the 23 cems band which is close to this. Regards, Roger

My observations (not recorded) also suggest that things have been busier in the last few days. I think that that should be set against what seemed to me to have been a particularly quiet period recently.

In fact some days MyFlights was so low that I was having doubts about my system but thank heavens I resisted the temptation to tinker with anything.

So I guess it's relative and the figures are where one hopes they would be mid-season.

I have been thinking the opposite.

The traffic in Alicante area has dropped considerably over the last week or so.

Tarbart how do you get that graph ?

Tarbart how do you get that graph ?

I use SQLite Maestro to export all the data from the v_Flights view in the MyLog database, import into Excel, and use a pivot chart to analyse by EndTime.

My RB hasn't been on for the last week in the Alicante area due to horrendous weather. One thunderstorm over this way lasted for over 5 hours. I take no chances due to having an outside aerial and switch off/disconnect everything. It should also be noted that even with a slight thunderstorm, the rainfall can become torrential very quickly therefore Alicante will normally close in adverse weather with flights very often diverting to Valencia and even Ibiza.
