Confirm that to enter more than one route you will have to add the data, click save, click clear and then add again.

Correct, or if you don't click Clear you can make changes (other than the Flight ID) to the record currently on screen.

I decoded 41 new alpha-numerics in & out of EMA over the weekend which, while labourious, shows that the callsign enigma can be cracked piece by piece.

Keep up the good work chaps, much appreciated !

The exercise also threw up some wrongly decoded flights - ie flights erroneously showing EMA as part of the route.  Not sure how we can get these removed?

If you mean wrongly decoded by the AirNav server, you will have to ask them, although they have already stated that they aren't interested in feedback on individual routes.

If you see or suspect an erroneous route in the new database, I've added a Notes field so leave a suitable comment and I'll deal with the offending record(s).

It looks to me that the datestamp on the route table was introduced mid 2008.  It appears to me that route without a datestamp are out of date (based on a small sample)

It almost look to me that all routes with no datestamp should be deleted. I will have to do some more checking on a larger sample to confirm this

The lookup for airports shows FAJS as Jan Smuts - it is now the O R Thambo International

Airports index duly updated.  I've used Tambo, rather than Thambo, as that seems to be the usage preferred by the airport itself.

All SAA flights between FALE and FACT will cease on 1 November.
These flights will be taken over by Mango (MNO) who will absorb the passengers in its normal flights. No announcement has been made by Mango as to increased flights (yet)

Hi Dave,

I have just added a number of routes to my routes db but they are not populating for some reason.

Do you have any idea why not, or what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

Were the aircraft displaying while you updated? Normally need to exit and open again to get the data displaying

No, I can't see any reason why what you are doing shouldn't work.  The screenshot looks like you have updated the database OK.

I don't personally use RadarBox's built-in Database Explorer as the user interface is hopeless - do you have access to any other SQLite utilities that you could try ?

I have added an SQL download facility to the Flight Route Update website/database.

This can be used to produce an update file which can be loaded straight into your NavData.db3 using any of the available SQLite utilities.

www.flightroutelookup.com/FlightRoute/FlightRouteUpdate.asp

Feedback welcomed.

Dave

Dave,

I used SQLite Maestro (from a Access db file) to import the new routes into the NavData.db3.

Here's another flight

OK, I think I know what's happening, and why.

I've done some tests, and it would appear that RadarBox can't handle route lookups where a Flight ID is in the format that CCM Airlines uses on its routes, even when the same flight number is already in the Routes table in your NavData.db3.

As far as I can see, there is no workaround for this.
