I still think there should be an update team as for the aircraft.
There is - it's just that for routes, the team is independent of AirNav.
Dave - is the download functionality in process?
Not yet, I've been a bit preoccupied over the weekend (see below), plus we're only just starting to match the first takeoffs and landings, so there's not much to download yet. If you want to download what's been done so far, it's easy enough for the time being to copy-and-paste from the route listing report into Excel.
Just one comment on the program - if you update one flight (by clicking Save) and then enter another flight number - same dep and dest but different time and then save again you overwrite the first entry - you have to click clear and then start again. Could that be changed?
Fair point - but there's a better way of addressing that. I know from writing commercial web applications that users often like to see the record once it's been saved, so removing the data from the screen as soon as it's saved isn't such a good idea. However to prevent records being overwritten, the database will now disallow changes to the Flight ID of an existing record.
Over the weekend I've captured several thousand takeoffs and landings from the network, a significant proportion (around 1400) showing blank routes, and these are in the process of being added to the database.
The distinction of being the first route to have both origin and destination derived from a captured takeoff and landing goes to Saturday morning's JZR171 (J9171), a Jazeera AW flight from Dubai to Kuwait, now safely stored in the database.
