Major Announcement
« on: May 27, 2010, 01:53:12 PM »
Earlier on this year, Air Nav said there would be a major announcement made in June.
There was much speculation made about what it could be. Multi lat being the favourite.
As we are in to June next week, could Air Nav please tell us are we still on course for this announcement, or has it been delayed for whatever reason.
Myself, I cannot wait to find out.
Radarbox just keeps getting better and better.

Can't be MLat - that's been announced already:  http://twitter.com/AirNavSystems/statuses/11397338315

Maybe it is this FAA announcement that I have picked up today:

FAA announces ADS-B performance standards:
The FAA announced the performance requirements for Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) equipment under the NextGen air transportation system yesterday (May 27). Aircraft flying in airspace including classes A, B, C, around busy airports, and above 10,000 feet will be required to broadcast their position via ADS-B by 2020. The rule mandates that the broadcast signal meet specific requirements in terms of accuracy, integrity, power and latency. “This rule gives the green light for manufacturers to begin building the onboard equipment,” said Randy Babbitt, FAA Administrator.

Good news for all Airnav users!!!
So many trails not enough time!

2020 - hopefully the Airnav MLAT announcement will be before then!!

Hi sasa1000 and Canonjohns40D.
I agree Airnav support  their customers 24/7,  not like some other systems
where you have to depend on a bounce of fools asking for a donation for advice.
i hope you all have a nice weekend.
ps:
Just back from La Torre Golf course i had a great two weeks.   4

It's a pity that it has to wait 'til next week. Aurora start shipping their product on Tuesday and I'm on the waiting list. A "proud" announcement from Airnav, could have swung the purchase their way (and, perhaps not just for me).

Ah well......never mind
