Hi Alan,

I have a few queries/comments on recently populated a/c.

- 3AAC06 / F-MJBG should be Gendarmerie and not Gendarnerie

- 4D0229 / LX-TQJ should be Dassault and not Daddault

- 38133D / F-JRNP 83AAH is not the c/n. It's a county registration code.

- 3AAC00 / F-MJBA type should be EC45 and not E145 (assuming the AT field populated properly)

- The latest batch of French test codes are not being entered as they were done before.
Ex: Populated before as AN=Airbus Test Registration / AC=Airbus Industries
Now for some reason they have changed to AN=Various Airbus A320 (or whatever the type) Airframes / AC=Airbus Industrie Test Registration.  Wouldn't it be better to keep things consistent?

- I understood that miscoded a/c were not to be entered into the database, but I have just had two a/c (D-AOLT and 5629) with "(miscode)" written in the AC field.
Does this mean we can post known miscodes?

- 514046 / 4L-SKL should be Ilyushin IL-76T and not Ilyushin IL76T (and a lot more in the db)

- AE11DF / 77-0351 should be Boeing E-3B Sentry and not Boeing E3B Sentry - with AE11DD/76-1606, AE11E6/78-0578, AE11D7/75-0557, AE11D3/71-1408, AE11D9/75-0559, AE11E7/79-0001

- AE206D / AE206D populated as "Gulfstream Aerospace C37B..." (maybe the populating bug - have a lot of a/c with the ... at the end) AND should be C-37 - with AE0978/01-0076, AE1258/166376.  Most of the USAF Gulfstreams are written as Gulfstream Aerospace G-V (C-37A) in the db

- A6F6A4 / N548LF should be Bombardier CL-600-2B16 Challenger 604 and not Canadair CL600 Challenger 604

- 477FFD / 110 should be Antonov An-26 and not Antonov An26 (and a lot more in the db)

Thanks

Andrew

4062A4 G-OOBN Company should be Thompson Airways not Airlines

Hi Andrew,

Corrections made as per your first 4 comments. F-MJBA was in as an EC45.

Re misscodes, I dont like entering misscodes but my colleagues are quite happy enter them but we are putting misscode in with the operators details to ensure everyone knows it is a misscode.

Regarding the missing hyphens we are aware and will eventually get round to amending them but there are a lot.   With 300,000 missing aircraft, putting in missing hyphens is not a priotiry of mine but we are getting to them.

The ... is not in the database so the bug at work.

Re the full manufacturers details of Challenger, again aware and same could be said for all CRJ models as well.

Re the Russian aircraft the An, IL etc is not actually required as it should be Antonov 26, Ilyushin 76 etc with no abreviation therefore we dont even need the hyphen.

Alan,

Thanks very much for your reply.

A couple of weeks ago (while you were on holiday) I posted a question regarding the Beech 400.  Have you had chance to look at it with your colleagues yet?

Just like to clarify a point. How should a Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP be correctly populating the AN field.  Should it be "Beech Beechjet 400A" and "Hawker 400XP" respectively?

That is very complex and I don't think we yet have a standardised format due to the uncertainty.  Based on the Wikipedia entry and other data gives the following:

Mitsubishi MU-300-10 Diamond II later renamed Beechcraft Model 400 Beechjet
Improved version of Diamond I; 11 built all by Mitsubishi, all subsequently redesignated as Beechjet 400s. - C/Ns were A1001SA through A1011SA, C/N renumbered to RJ-1 to RJ-11

Beechcraft Model 400 Beechjet
Version of Diamond II built after Beechcraft bought the production rights to the MU-300 from Mitsubishi, 54 built in addition to 11 Diamond IIs. C/Ns RJ-12 to RJ-65

Model 400A
Upgraded model, initially produced as the Beechcraft Beechjet 400A, then Raytheon Beechjet 400A, then Raytheon Hawker 400XP, then Hawker Beechcraft Hawker 400XP.

Anyones thoughts would be appreciated, my personal preferrence would be just Beechcraft 400 Beechjet (for RJ-), Beechjet 400A and Hawker 400XP (for RK-) for simplicity.

Regards ACW367

Thanks again
