Database Update Requests
« on: May 26, 2010, 09:23:34 PM »
Please post single database update requests on this thread

Please refer to the instructions below:

Use this thread to provide details of records

 -   showing erroneous data
 -   pulling back blank data fields in MyFlights
 -   new aircraft not on the database (in this case more likely covered by the point  above)

please provide the following data fields for the record (where known)

“ms” – mode s code
“ar” – registration/serial number(mil)
“cn” – construction number
“ai” – aircraft ICAO
“at” – aircraft type
“co” – company/operator

A minimum of "ms" and/or "ar" is generally required to enable us to look into the record

If you are reporting erroneous data, please provide a brief description.

All requests will  be scheduled for review and ammended accordingly via the normal checking routine.

Please only post messages on this thread relating to database info/inaccuracies and new records - it is not meant to be a discussion thread as such.

please note that this approach is a temporary measure until a more suitable method has been developed.

For multiple queries, please use attached excel file or csv file with the same data fields and e-mail to my address as below my username above.

Many thanks regards

Rich

Good question, I know that some of use are supplying details to Rich through PM's and the updating team are working their little socks off.

I for one had a high percentage of un-identified aircraft and some of these have now been resloved.

Hi Chris

It's up to the forum members to let us know,as Zeek has done above.

Other than this thread, and Dave R's other thread, we will only be using our own observations and resources to update.

We're working on a few other possible options, but at the moment, if there's no activity on this thread, then the simple answer is, we wont have any user observations to update.

malc41 is spot on - I've also received several files of queries from members which are being trawled through, and hopefully they will have seen some improvement on these individual records - we don't suggest we can confirm every update has been dealt with though, as this would take too much time!

If we have a problem in id etc, chances are we'll come back on the board asking for info!

HTH

Regards

Rich

00A003 is ZS-MCO a Raytheon 390 (Premier 1) - not a Beech King Air as currently on the database

“ms” – 00A003
“ar” – ZS-MCO
“cn” – RB-72
“ai” – PRM1
“at” – Raytheon 390 (Premier 1)
“co” – ?

The Beech King Air that was ZS-MCO is now ZS-SHY

The Premier 1 that is now ZS-MCO was ZS-SGS

“ai” – C172
“at” – Cessna C172S

Thanks Chris

Not sure what the issue is with the C172 though? - Is it that it is incorrect/missing???

Please could you give a brief dtail as to the problem as you did with the other record in your earlier post?

Many thanks

Rich

by the way, where abouts are you?

If ZS-PTZ is in fact sending A04252 then clearly it's a miscode.  That 24-bit address belongs to N11583 (its previous identity).

Mode S is virtually unknown in South Africa. There are a number of aircraft that have been imported from the US that are still sending their old codes.

More examples:
ZS-PZR - A7CA1C - Piper PA28
ZS-PZS - A7D982 - Piper PA 28
ZS-PGI - A34943 - Piper PA44

I don't think it a clever idea to report these to our CAA ;)

“ms” – 00A27F
“ar” – ZS-NBA
“cn” – 7702
“ai” – CL60
“at” – BOMBARDIER CL600-2B19

Aircraft imported into the country by SA Express airline and just started its scheduled flying - was N484CA (I think)
