Regards Paul.
Yep, how high and how far west will it go before turning back?
Hi Pinza,he is out of range at the moment, but looks like the oceanic boundary, will report when back on the map.The other BA 747 at Heathrow has turned off its box, must have just been repositioning stands.

PH-BFD B744 just left EHAM to RCTP

Regards, Frank

There are indeed no passengers onboard this one. It is one of  three planes leaving for the far east this evening, before dark

Frank
Re-positioning? I wonder if the airlines are going to chance it and start getting the planes where they want them - presumably passengerless .

Frank, I would think they are trying to bring back some of the passengers stranded overseas.

There may be some ad hoc relaxations of restrictions going on to allow airline repositioning but I doubt very much if any passengers will be permitted on board.

On the other hand perhaps passengers could be brought into southern europe - Italy/spain etc and then overland or ferry from there.

It would seem that there are moves afoot to break the embargo.

That's my guess too, they climbed a lot quicker than usual.
