Data delayed in both directions?
« on: April 08, 2010, 12:51:40 AM »
When a user is not subscribed to the real-time RB network, is their uploaded data also delayed?  If so, why?  This impairs the accuracy of the network for realtime users.

I ask because I am acquainted with a RB user who is on the delayed RB network and is sharing data via PlanePlotter in real time.  His plots appear on PP about 50 miles further along their flightpaths than the same plots on my RB, which is on the realtime network.

Data is always shared in real-time (delay of no more than 3 secs). If you are subscribed to the real-time network then data will be shown with a no more than 20 secs delay.

PlanePlotter uses the RadarBox TCP/IP feed, not the RadarBox network protocol.  If you're not using a recent version of RadarBox, that feed is delayed by 5 minutes - ask your friend what RB version he is using.
