Singapore Airline A380
« on: February 13, 2008, 08:58:37 AM »
Singapore airlines are replacing a Boeng 747 400 with an Airbus A380 on the Singapore - London route commening March 18th 2008.  The flight will operate with the flight number SQ322, leaving ealry evening and arriving at Heathrow early Morning and then departing Heathrow before Noon.

If anyone ownes a RB and lives near Heathrow, perhaps you could leave it on and connected to the network, so that we can watch the first commercial arrival of this fine aircraft.  I will leave my RB switched on, which should give good coverage of the Bovingdon stack.

We always have good coverage of the Heathrow on the network. We have a support member who is nearby who is on 24/7. May not be online at the moment due to 1.4 testing but should definitely be online by then.

The callsign to set the alert for will be an SIA prefix, not SQ.

So, Alert settings should be:

Flight ID

SIA308
SIA319

Aircraft

A38*

And maybe add SIA* to the fleet watch list.

I can't remember what the registration is, but you could put this in the Registration alert box too!  This should ensure that you capture the A380 whatever data it is showing.

Don't forget to tick the "Activate Alerts for Network Flights" box in the Alert section, this way you should pick it up way before it gets to Heathrow :-)

I don't have access to Network data at the moment, but maybe somebody can see the aircraft right now?

I think that the registration for this aircraft is 9V-SKA

The other 2 due to be delivered are 9V-SKB and 9V-SKC

SIA308 took off 19 minutes later than scheduled.  Expect at LHR at 2:44pm - details from flightstats.com

No sign of it on the RB or PP networks yet.
