Is the bxo properly connected to the computer (green icon on the lower left corner of the screen saying "Hardware Connected")?

yes the the box is working as i can see many other flights anot 15nm. But only a few movements in or around the airport. as there are plenty going in and out of the airport. I am also sharing data from here as well. It has picked up a bit but not much

I imagine around 50% of aircraft are not ADSB equipped. Also, on the ground the transponder might be set to OFF and so you won't get an ADSB signal.

As a rule of thumb, turboprops aren't normally ADSB equipped... Many classic 737 don't have either.

Perhaps that is why?

Usually in Europe 90% of the flights are ADS-B equipped.
Aircraft on the ground might have the transponder off.

Interesting statistic you quote. On what basis is this 90% stated/assumed?

I live in Europe under a rather busy crossing of airways, and right next door to a major international airport. I don't have 9 out of 10 aircraft with ADS.

Currently in my list I have 34 flights of which 25 are ADSB equipped. More than my 50% I will admit. But I rarely see 90%.

You might be interested in this old thread about operating out and about.  I've used RB at the Manchester Aviation Viewing Park too.

I never see 90 %, rather be 60 or max. 70% (108 flight at the moment)

I can't say my experience reflects that figure and I would be more in line with Jannuh on percentages - say 50-60% on average.

That's why there is so much interest in Planeplotter/mlat; half of MyFlights is not plotted.

Hi All
I confirm 50% mode-s and ADS-B for Europe, in US,  it's  around 15% ads-b

In next update we display real time mode transpondeur in screenbox info.

I confirm 50% mode-s and ADS-B for Europe, in US,  it's  around 15% ads-d

It's pretty pointless bandying percentages around without saying what they are a percentage of.

Clearly 50% of "flights" don't have Mode S if you are including all takeoffs and landings by light aircraft, ULMs, gliders, military, etc, so you need to qualify what aircraft population you're talking about.

Similarly AirNav's unqualified assertion that "Usually in Europe 90% of the flights are ADS-B equipped" doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
