3D Gone This Morning!
« on: March 01, 2010, 07:19:01 AM »
I've already upgraded and running 3D but when I ran 4.03 this morning a box opened asking me if I wanted to upgrade to 3D, I replied no as I've already been up and running with 3D this week and now 3D is missing from my installation??

The RadarBox Network is undergoing maintenance according to the status page here:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/airnavstatus.php

It's not your RadaraBox installation, it's at the Server end.

Seems to be some server maintenance happening at the moment. My 3D was also gone, but when I restarted the ANRB the 3D was there the second time.

Now I am having problems connecting to the network - its up and down all over the place...

3D requires a connection to the AirNav Server, so with the Network on maintenance, you won't get 3D.

If it's not a silly question, why don't AirNav simply provide a 3D licence file, tied to the RadarBox serial number, that can be installed on a user's PC when they buy the upgrade ?

Is seems daft that, when Google Earth is up and running 24/7, users can't get what they've paid for if the AirNav server is down and RadarBox can't phone home.

It does seem crazy that we cant get what we have paid for. I know we also pay for the network and if the server is down so is all that. But the 3D is a one-off payment so it should be available all the time :-(

Further to mine. I got the 3D available to purchase message - but unaderstand the server is down from this thread, so the server is not recognising that I have paid for 3D.

However, it has opened in 2D but with the Network available - How is that possible? If the Network is available surely 3D should be also.

Mike

Server does funny things when its not 100%. Rest assured once the maintenance is over it should be back online as normal.

I am also having Network Connection problems with 2D ANRB V3.13 as connection keeps dropping out every 30 seconds. I assume this is due to the ongoing maintenance to the server. Hopefully back to normal after this is finished.

You haven't answered my question.

If a 3D user wants to be able to see their own local traffic in 3D, why does that have to be dependent on the AirNav server at all, when there are other, more sensible ways that the application could have been configured to verify that it's authorised to run in 3D mode ?

Very easy, they (AN) don't want to answer your simple question!

Same has been asked before for the mail log function, it now is handled via the AN Server.

AN Server down, you can't even fully use your Radarbox locally!!

Actually, I'm encouraged by AirNav's lack of response - if they had thought my proposed fix was a stupid suggestion I'm sure they would have said so by now.

They're probably busy working on implementing it even as I speak ...
