Airnav are aware that there is an issue, in that data that we are entering for the AT PT and LK fields is not filtering to users. This means that in a very small number of cases you will still get a incorrect photo or non standard ICAO code. Airnav have this as a priority fix and it should be resolved shortly.

Cheers Dave got it.  Why do I feel I'm walking in a mine field, lol.  Wish all registers we're published/accessed the same, would be so much easier.

Here is an open question, and yes I've no idea the answer...

How many ModeS codes are in use?

Depends on what you mean by "in use" - many aircraft have codes assigned without having an ATC transponder to transmit them, so you'll never pick them up.

OK the better question is how many flyable aircraft are fitted with Mode S transponders.  My current semi-educated estimate is over 110,000 with around 3,000 changes worldwide in any one given month.

The 370K odd US allocated codes and the 20K UK allocated codes include many many thousands of Gliders, Balloons, Microlights which are never likely to even be equipped with Mode C, let alone a broadcasting Mode S.  Adding these to the system, and consequently tracking these aircraft sales and re-registrations would really divert the task from the important tracking of changes to Airliners, Biz Aviation and ADS-B aircraft that will be picked up often by the masses.  Tracking and updating the re-registration of a non-radio equipped Piper J-6 Cub operating from a farm strip in the town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico (just because the FAA publish a code for its future use) is not going to help anyone.

What we need is a truly worldwide Mode S network, then we could simply count the codes picked up :-)

I'd estimate nearer 150,000 potentially flyable Mode S transponder-equipped aircraft (including military).  As you rightly say, and indeed I did too, many aircraft have codes assigned without having an ATC transponder to transmit them, I guess we'll never know exactly how many.

I think we can rule out that "Piper J-6 Cub", though :-)

Something not quite right here - the newly-created record for that Falcon 2000 has the correct type and msn, but a photo link and thumbnail of a Lancair that was de-registered in 2003 ...
