Off at a slight tangent to this topic:

If I click on a cell under 'Network', I can fill in or update the details if available.
Also, if I sit there with my finger on the up/down cursor it will eventually update all of the cells that can be updated.

So what exactly does "populate" do, and should I use it insteasd of my one finger method ?

Words of one syllable please, I'm not computer literate like some on here  :o(

The "currently populates" details quoted are indeed what you will see if you click on, or cursor up/down to, the Mode S code in question.  That's to say the AirNav server fills in your local RadarBox database with the details that it has for that code.

Unfortunately all too often those details are incorrect or out-of-date, and you may even find that after you have corrected your own database yourself, the server subsequently overwrites your amendments with incorrect data - you will find a couple of long threads from users reporting this problem if you do a forum search.

I hope that makes sense and answers your question.

Many thanks Dave - articulate and helpful as always !

One of American Airlines' original DC-10s, probably, still hanging around in the data cloud.

Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned the GAS lookup program.  I have the link open now and it looks to be designed specifically for the Kinetic box.  Can it be made to work with RadarBox?

Last week was long dead Air Canada fleet aircraft appearing on ANRB - this week it has been Canadian Pacific Airlines DC-10s. A long, long gone airline and a/c. The hits were actually new production Bombardier a/c, a Global Express and a Dash 8-400 on test flights from Downsview. I dont expect ANRB to have such new a/c in the DB but I also don't expect it to fill my DB with long expired information, (cancelled over ten years ago).
