In flight ...
« on: January 27, 2008, 06:24:54 PM »
Hi,

I come back from holidays in Lapland (North of Finland) with my RB.
i had connected the RB (with network), but my antenna was not
very clear and i can't track many flight (only from IVALO Airport).

My position in the IP/MAP was completly wrong (middle of Finland, or i was
completly in the North).

But for the return flight (IVALO / PARIS) i take my laptop and the RB
in the plane (not when taking off and landing time), without antenna i can track my own
flight position ... for the fun !!!!

With no antenna (not possible to take the antenna on board !!!), no problem
to have good reception.

Of course no information via network ...

Only for the fun ...

A short moment, i have caught another plane who was just
behind you.
The "show" have a great succes with the other
passengers .... and my wife consider definitively that
i'm technologicaly crazy...

Very nice, did the details from the RadarBox match the ones being shown inflight such as the location and speed? :)

Its interesting to see how many messages the aircraft is sending out per second.

Airnav, what about making a small antenna thet fit the Radarbox for "invisible"  use on an aircraft--similar to a Maldol MH-209 -type antenna but for 1090mhz?

As mentioned in other posts and here, the RadarBox is happy without an antenna :) Seriously though we do have a antenna equipment kit coming along soon will take this feedback seriously.
