We cannot pull Live data from your boxes as they only send the data out with a 5 minute delay.

I think the RadarBox should be able to send out data real-time. If the user decides wether or not to share he should also be the one to decide wether or not to share live.

Can you please clarify which bits of the network functionality will be chargable.  Obviously flight data from other Radarbox users is, but are the following also part of the chargable network access:
1. The aircraft data from GAS
2. Flight numbers, callsigns, etc.
3. The Navigraph data
4. Aircraft photos
5. Weather information

This can be seen on the Radarbox Network Tab if you don't share Live data:

"You are not sharing data, if you share data for each hour of data sharing you receive
30 minutes of free network download usage. Click here to activate data sharing now."

Will this still apply ?

Marinus.

If you are using the network we so no reason why you should not be sharing. It does not not have affect on the running of RadarBox or your internet speed as the data bandwith is very small.

As true as that may be, it doesn't answer my question ??

It won't force you to log off, but just give you that message.

Sorry, but that still doesn't answer my question does it ??

I'd like to know if in the future sharing for 1 hour still gives you a free
1/2 a hour of network download or that your intending to charge us for
the network download regardless of uploading or not.....

Oh right sorry, caught the wrong quesstion. The answer is no. That message was before we were deciding on how the network would be run and managed.

You will need to pay for access to the network regardless whether you share.

You will need to pay for access to the network regardless whether you share.
You might want to consider a pricing mechanism that encourages users to share their flight data, to reward those that share.

Hi Tarbat,

This was considered in the past, have a search through the forum. Various posts on it and there is even details on the account page when you buy on how many credit hours you have (not used anymore) but is indication that we thought of this.

However regardless we felt the customers need to contribute something towards the server and running of the network. We believe those you who will pay will also be sharing and only very few will not share as it causes no harm to them to do so.

If I remember correctly, at the beginning we had problems with the network and it was said that for those that had purchased there RB the first year would be extended.  Can someone tell me then as to when the first year started or more like when the first year finishes!

Good point Dave, I still have the emails sent direct to me telling me my year would be extended.

September as till when 1.2 was released. This is only for customers who had issues and whom we have logged information (i.e sent support tickets or have  support forum post where they mentioned the issue)

Edited as wrong information was put up earlier, apologies
