RadarBox Network Access Price
« on: January 11, 2008, 02:08:21 PM »
As mentioned before we are waiting for the release of V1.4 and for some other great news to announce the price to access our RadarBox Network access.

Anyway we can advance that it will be only a symbolic price to cover the network expenses (aprox 5 EUR per month). This will give anyone unlimited network access.

Hope this is great news for all of you.
Expect 2 other important announcements related to the RadarBox project in 2-3 weeks.

If my maths is correct:

5x12 = 60 EUR which at the current exchange rate equates to 45.29 GBP

However, I guess that I'll have to pay UK VAT (tax) on that at 17.5%

That brings it up to 53.21 GBP per year or 4.43 GBP per month.

I think that I could live with that - not as good as free of course, but much better than I expected, especially for unlimited access.

Thanks for the info AirNav.

Thanks for your opinion. It cannot be free because of the price of running the server and believe me we have 3 huge, expensive, state-of-the-art servers powering our network. It is prepared for millions of messages per hour, monitored 24/7/365. This has lots of expenses associated.

5 EUR per month can be considered free access (that-s 16 cents per day).

Can you explain how that maybe paid, i.e. Monthly, annually via card/paypal etc  Think you get the idea...

Also currency, will it be in Euro's only?

And yes, lot better than the first published figure and one that is about correct. :)

What do you users prefer? To pay monthly or yearly? We thought about a yearly payment. All currencies are accepted (like with any other of our products).

This price represents a great effort from AirNav Systems as we really want to have this product fly even higher! We are not making any profit from it.

hi
Look, guys for me i think both method payments is good.
Because someone only been interested in one month, exemple, and dont wan't pay a year.
So what we do?
I think both method is better, not only one.
best regards

Great news should keep everyone happy, I think the option should be up to the individual, monthly or yearly that way it is fair. Keep up the good work.

pushing this a little more, how about a monthly payment and a annual payment, with the annual costing a little less than if you had paid 12 monthly payments.

Guys,
i need another information, if possible.
Why dont Airnav created a little application to everyone who don't have Radarbox?
I explain: imagine, that people who dont have a Radarbox, but they want pay to see or connect to radarbox network?
How they can do?
Can you my Airnav friends make that program?
And them the people pay to connect to netword to see air traffic.
What do you think?
Thx.
best regards

Hi Miguel,

If we did that nobody would purchase RadarBox and that would in turn decrease the amount of flights shown.

We will NOT be doing that as its not fair to RadarBox customers, and this special price is only for RadarBox customers for the networks. Have a look at our other products which provide similar data and they priced much more.

Hope that explains it.

After reading above post I thought I'd review what was on offer and found this...  was wondering if this is one of the reasons the price for network access has came down?  Not got any problem with it, just interested to know as reading the text indicates the radarbox network data is being resold.

Quote
AirNav Live Flight Data, the solution for who needs access to raw real-time flight data in XML format. Data will be downloaded from our ASDI (US and Canadian airspace) server, RadarBox Network (worldwide coverage) and/or RadarBox Hardware.

Does this also mean your pulling live data from our RB's as this seems to be what is indicated.

Hi DaveG,

We cannot pull Live data from your boxes as they only send the data out with a 5 minute delay.

Live Flight Data is aimed towards Proffesionals who are approved to use Live Data and they have a different version which allows to them to get access to data Live (that is from the hardware). They can also get data from the network but as mentioned above the network data is 5 minute delayed.

As to whether this has affected the price, nope not at all. The above software is based on Proffesional usage and has custom software made for it and also uses our ADSI data which Live Flight Tracker uses.

Hope that helps.

Yep thanks it does.

Although I'd say the description I quoted above does seem to give the impression that it is a "normal" radarbox and does not say anything about 5mins delay.  Hence one of the reasons I asked.

Thanks Again.
