787 2nd flight - notes
« on: December 22, 2009, 05:27:50 PM »
Capt. reported to chase plane that left aft inboard brake indicated hot.  Requested of Seattle Center to linger in area for "a great Kodak moment" as chase plane takes photos.  Now brake has cooled to 580 and raising gear for first time.

Shame it doesn't have ADS-B!

Some confusion here with designators - BOJA784A is actually an advance fly chase plane - 001 is the actual 787 and they are out west of Seattle at the moment taking photos by the Olympic mountains.

I am monitoring both comms between the 787 and the chase plane as well as with Seattle Center ARTCC.  787 Captain reports tops of clouds at 5700 and clear above - "beautiful day to fly".  They are currently cycling the gear while chase plane observes and photographs gear operation.  ADS-B coverage is spotty here due to mountains and hills occasionally blocking signal.
