Puddy: like our support mentioned is not a recurring charge. It is a one time small fee.

As a Comment...

INMHO it is senseless to count your chickens before they are hatched.

Let's lay back and wait until AirNav has done the Job. Then, everyone must themselves decide whether it is worth the extra amount of money to invest or not. Or to continue with (all) the other already existing solutions.

Time will tell...

Just to answer puddy:
The 3D version is a one time fee not a subscription.

I have the memory of an elephant too but airnav did say small fee  I just hope its not more than €15 per year

As you can see, Airnav said "one time fee". IOW, you pay once and then you get the 3D version.

Now, a question, if you do this Airnav, can it be made to behave just like the current product when the 3D bit is turned off?

I'm not too familiar with Google Earth, or overlays, but one feature I would love to see is the ability to use a Google Maps Terrain overlay.  If you go to maps.google.com and choose the terrain view, it looks really nice.  I'd love to see this in the new 3D version.

I like the satellite photo overlay in the 3.06 beta and will probably like the 3D view but would also love the ability to use both the normal and terrain view of google maps.

eg.  I really like the way the plane icons contrast with the google maps from http://casper.frontier.nl/ .  Having the ability to use a google map would be awesome.

Is this easily achievable?

@AirNav

You might want to include european 3D airspace data as can be found here:
