Well if they did that then something pointy and explosive could well come their way. There are always cases where somebody has mis-set the switches during combat ops.

I think that would probably happen regardless of simple ADS-B transmisions.

Mass hysteria, fear and paranoia have really got a grip on the western world since 911.

You can also populate the aircraft details manually using DataBase Explorer if they are not being auto-populated so that you get more information.  This is from airframes.org

That would also give you the aircraft silhouette.  You can then set an Alert for 7CF* mode S codes to capture the Australian military aircraft (need to check that code though, to make sure that they are all in this sequence).

Well what do you know - just spotted an RAAF plane sending ADS-B. It went on to land at Sydney, not Richmond though....

You might want to take the opportunity to correct the type code in your NavData.db3 database - "B73B" isn't a valid ICAO code.  RAAF A36-002 is a 737-7DF (ICAO B737) and I note that there are another 100 or so "B73B"s in my NavData, most should be ICAO B737s or B738s.

Other "B73B"s include, for some strange reason, a Fokker F-27 (N737A), a Gulfstream V (VP-BNZ) and a Sikorsky S-55 (N739A) !

Having said that, the signs are looking good, now that V3 is out, that the aircraft details/photo issue will soon be fixed once and for all.

You can easily verify what is and isn't a valid ICAO Type Designator by using ICAO's own website at www.icao.int/anb/ais/8643 and then you can use any of the SQLite utilities to do a batch update of your NavData.db3.

I can't understand why AirNav haven't done that themselves, there's really no excuse.  But as I said in my last post, issues like this should shortly be a thing of the past.
