Duplicate alerts - popup & email

Only seems to happen with "Aircraft" and "Registration" alerts, but not always!!!

There's a clue here!!  I've just set-up a Registration alert for G-LGN*, and I'm now getting duplicate email alerts:



Mode-S Codes, Flight IDs, Squawk, etc. don't generate duplicates.  Maybe this is tied into the change made a while ago to get Registration alerts working?

Quite a list...and I also have the relevant Mode-S for these same aircraft in Alerts also.

In addition I use the same list in SmartView...

Is it a wildcard thing? All mine are listed in full but I see you see the * as a wildcard.

For a change I am not seeing this issue here - see attached.

One big thing though...when I run ANRB it brings my whole system to its knees...instead of Excel opening in under a second I just waited >30 seconds for it to open. I tried to open Snagit to take a screenshot of my Inbox for the attached picture and it was unusable taking >30 seconds just to open let alone trying to take a screenshot.

Quit ANRB and my system returns to normal.

TaskManager shows no excessive CPU activity...

Even writing this email is painful...I can watch the text being slowly typed to the screen after I have finished typing on the keyboard.

Well, if it's not CPU constrained, then it's possibly an I/O subsystem problem.  Can you check in Windows Performance manager what files are getting high levels of I/O.  Here's an example, showing the high level of I/O activity that RB can generate through SQLite journalling.



So much depends on how Airnav are using SQLite in their programming, when they commit transactions, etc.  Maybe an area for Airnav to look at for performance tuning in the future.

I will give the I/O a test when I can find something that I can trust under XP.

I used to use something called SiSoft Sandra so I might take a look at that and see if that will do...

If it is an I/O problem then my gut feel is that ANRB is doing something weird because as I have said before I can capture DV from camcorder with no dropped frames and render video/process RAW images with no slowdown like I see when I use ANRB.

I'll give it a go and report back.

I don't have wildcards in my lists (although I did some testing with them) and I'm getting the duplicates.
