« on: August 24, 2009, 09:06:13 PM »
Hi all, just noticed something strange while running airnav & planeplotter side by side tonight.Currently Monarch flight no MON661 en route to Manchester, radar box is giving reg as G-TTIH A321, while planeplotter is giving reg as G-OZBT also an A321,both showing mode s as 4013AF.Anyone seen this before, which is the correct reg, cheers Paul.

http://www.airframes.org/ has both registrations as possibles.  So the Airnav servers think it's G-TTIH, whereas whoever was sharing the aircraft on the Planeplotter network has it as G-OZBT.

I think G-OZBT is the Monarch Airlines registration.  The other one was used bhy Easyjet.

Its always worth check airframes when in doubt.

No real mystery here.  G-TTIH was originally ordered by GB Airways and the order was inherited by EasyJet when they bought GB.  EasyJet in turn sold it to Monarch, who re-registered it G-OZBT (ZB is Monarch's IATA code).

When any aircraft moves from one G- registration to another the hex code doesn't change.
