It is all a matter of taste and personal opinion but to me it is plain ugly :-)May be I have been around for too long and remember much more stylish aircraft.
Can you remember how noisy some of these old aircraft were, especially the Tridents on take off and the great plooms of black smoke they left behind, and people complain of aircraft noice today, pah! they don't know how good they have it.
Were you ever on the old Tridents? The front row of seats faced rearward so that you actually sat facing your fellow passengers. Very off-putting. Still, in those days, you could at least sit towards the rear of the aircraft and have a pleasant smoke. Try doing that today !

But capable of descending astonishingly rapidly, using in-flight reverse thrust.
