A380
« on: May 21, 2010, 04:32:02 PM »
Had my first A380 this afternoon, showed up in my log when I got home. It is an Emirates one and has registration A6-EDB. How common are these just now as this is the first one I have recorded or even seen when browsing through network flights?

hello

We have had a few emirates  ones over Shetland and over Inverness but sadly never over us. Also in the ash the air France one was routed between  Orkney and Shetland. I think if you check your log you will see a few A380s depending on when you have your box switched on. They are most common in the morning between 6 and 10 am.

I'll have a look at log now Andrew, though I don't think I have had any yet. My box has been on 24/7 since getting it apart from shutting it down when re-locating antenna.

Just checked through my saved logs and found one A380. It was 10 th May and Air France flight AFR 006 REG: F-HPJC en route LFPG-KJFK. Must have overlooked this one as I have been keeping my eyes peeled for this model.

Sandy,
You don't say where you are located - which will make a difference. I am located 30 miles from London and have 34 different A388 registrations recorded since owning my RB back in 2007............

Hi Roadrunner, I am located in Shetland and just now am averaging prob in the region of 70-80 flights a day and a few of these are Aberdeen to Shetland & return so big stuff is a bit scarce. I am hoping to get antenna mounted outside in the next couple of weeks to increase coverage, just now my furthest point is level with Aberdeen which I am happy with considering antenna is in loft.
