Did you change your settings in preferances like tarbat did, to 110/790

If you did, it would be showing more flights, in the total box at the top.

If you do extend your timeouts to 15 minutes, then it's advisable to also set a Quick Filter on MyFlights of Status <> 1Timeout

How good is that:-)

Hi All,

With me, after installing V3.0 last friday, I have seen over 300 at peaktimes.

Can you explain what you mean ?

V3.0 has lots of enhancements, but I can't see any that would account for you picking up any more aircraft than you did before, let alone double the number.

I think he might be confused with the network flights.

V3.0 decodes more mode-s frames which results in more flight numbers being shown. In areas where there are a lot of mode-s only aircraft (no ADS-B) the number of aircraft received can double.

Yes, I understand that part - RadarBox displays some Flight IDs for non-ADS-B aircraft where previously you would see an aircraft without one.

In areas where there are a lot of mode-s only aircraft (no ADS-B) the number of aircraft received can double.

But I'm having problems making sense of this.  Surely you're not saying that some non-ADS-B (Mode S only) aircraft didn't appear on RadarBox in previous versions, but do now?

So exactly which category of aircraft do any newly-displayed additional ones fall into?

Come on AirNav, you can't just leave this unanswered.

Consider.  If the competition came out with a new version of their software and claimed that it could result in up to twice the number of aircraft being picked up compared to previous versions, then you (and I) would want to understand how that can be, and we would be justifiably critical if they failed to back it up with facts.

Making a statement like

In areas where there are a lot of mode-s only aircraft (no ADS-B) the number of aircraft received can double.

but failing to explain where these additional aircraft are coming from sounds a bit like snake oil to me.

Looking at the published list of V3.0 enhancements I can't see anything that would account for this - have you left something out?  Granted, you are now decoding BDS2,0 frames which will allow you to display more flight IDs where previously flights would have been displayed with that field blank, but that's a completely different issue.

So allow me to ask again, what's the basis for the assertion that "the number of aircraft received can double" (or even increase at all) with V3.0?
