Another request:

In MyLog, there's some wasted space below the photos. If I click on a flight on the left, I'd like to see a decode of the route there. I'm probably not the only RB user who doesn't instantly recognise all the ICAO airport codes in the world.

Oh, and why not make the photos in MyLog clickable to open them in Airliners?

The IAS is rarely available, if at all - AFAIK.

Yes, that's my understanding too.

There's a more in-depth discussion about displaying IAS/TAS/GS in this thread: www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1716.msg13606#msg13606

I like to note which aircraft I have actually spotted through the binoculars,a quick tick box somewhere to record it on the log would be handy.

Two requests

Change the Airliners photos from most popular to most recent.  All ANet photos are now good quality pictures. People visiting ANet tend to look more at the arty photos that show unusual things like cockpits or night shots.  Therefore the most popular pictures are not necessarily the best pictures for our purposes.  The most recent image tends to show the most recent colour scheme worn.  Here are some examples

9M-MPP
Most recent, a clean side shot http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Boeing-747-4H6/1547753/&sid=a71c8625fc73f1f39365dced2c880016
Most popular, a arty shot where the scheme is not clear  http://www.airliners.net/photo/Malaysia-Airlines/Boeing-747-4H6/1354302/&sid=a71c8625fc73f1f39365dced2c880016

Most recent, a clean side shot http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Airbus-A340-313X/1517545/&sid=be13df3fa04d9201a38916039ebf6689
Most Popular, a cloud http://www.airliners.net/photo/Emirates/Airbus-A340-313X/1344705/&sid=be13df3fa04d9201a38916039ebf6689

Most popular, an undercarriage http://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-China-Cargo/Boeing-747-412F-SCD/1328331/&sid=576ab6e5f7ec392c894ea904377cea0b

Finally one that has changed airline G-TTID

Most popular, an old pic in BA livery http://www.airliners.net/photo/British-Airways-(GB/Airbus-A321-231/1194975/&sid=c7fbde99bf99e86b3cf736bff487f4af

The Second topic is to have the the 'aircraft' database as the top tab on the Navdata explorer.  People usually want to update aircraft details. However the first tab currently is the 'actype' tab which is now unused in the current versions.  All it would require would be to rename this tab 'type' which would then mean that the 'aircraft' tab is the first alphabetically and therefore the one displayed on opening the explorer.

Brimon

I believe this is the idea behind the comments box in mylog that already exists, for you to freetype comments as to when you physically saw the bird.

ACW - agree with your commants about the Airliners photos - as to the renaming of the table, while it would be a good idea, you will find that when version 3 is finally released, one of the right-click options will take you straight to the aircraft table for the plane you want - it's a huge time and effort saver :-)

I have been using that ACW but it would be nice just to be able to click a box & have it logged as "seen".Cheers.

The most recent Airliners image still can be an arty shot or an older image there is no way to stop this other than to select your own. I often upload older shots taken years ago which will be the latest in the database.

May be the best answer is to have it selectable so you can download the most recent or the most popular, we all have different tastes ;-)

Hi Brimon,

I've been requesting something along this line for a couple of years now...

I'm hoping it will be implemented soon.  For now I manually edit my photo file to show a HEARD, SEEN or HEARD/SEEN icon and this is the result.  It's a little primative and time consuming but I enjoy doing it and best of all I can see anywhere on the network an aircraft that have actually seen, heard over the radio, or both.

Maybe something like this could be used in a pop-up box as per some of the great suggestions noted in this thread.

Paul@cyyb

P.S. Thanks Rod!

Hi EMA

That option could be added too.  Great idea!

Hi Airnav

Is it possible for a future release to allow, for a single aircraft, the user to select the information shown on the interface and with say a right click option cut and paste this into the forum pages. The reason? If I am alerting others to Intersting Aircraft or Interesting Military Aircraft i am writing the information down then typing it onto the forum. Just a thought!!.

There will be a right-click option to copy a FIELD to the clipboard, which may help a bit. Copying the whole record (or the whole visible record, or the whole visible record without logo/silhouette, or whatever) may be a possibility for future versions.
