Yeah but them be Grey Arrows, Allocator...they do look like they could be in focus though! ;^)

And you're obeying the rule of thirds...

Sywell was where I first saw XH558 last year.

I'm so old, that when I was a lad, the whole world was in black and white :-)

You should have seen all the other pictures with only one aircraft in - or half and aircraft .....

Hi Andy,

Some nice photos you have there...almost impossible to get both of the synchro pair in focus though isn't it?

You done well to get them both in the viewfinder at the same time - did you crop the picture?

Take a look on YouTube for videos of the Vulcan displaying on Sunday - you will be in for a treat.

Excellent quality; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X98ZnZs-2ds

Great angle; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmRZqoEhPNA

On his climb away from the airfield he really went for it and when he turned out of the climb I really thought he was going to roll it - possibly the first time since Roly Falk performed a barrel roll on camera?

She is always awesome to watch but Sundays display with THAT take off in particular...so exciting to watch and I saw tears rolling down the cheeks of some people watching.

I even got emotional...they are not wrong when they talk of the 'Vulcan effect'

Take a look at my Flickr page as there are some aircraft shots here if you are interested;

Kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

Hi Glyn

Yes it was impossible to catch the pair just crossing and in sharp focus.
It was just down to luck that I got them in the viewfinder at the same time.  When zoomed in they are moving a lot faster!
I did crop the picture using Adobe photoelements.

From what you have said I think Sundays show was better than Saturday. Any way I will no doubt be sticking my hand in my pocket for more donations this year and hope to cath her again.

I will have a shuffty at you flickr page later when I have finished the daughters taxi runs.

Andy

Hope she makes it James...she went 'Tech' yesterday with a gear door bracket which I believe has been sourced from XM655 at Wellesbourne and is good to go apart from the paperwork side of things which should be taken care of by this morning.

She has had a good record so far this year compared to last year I believe...

Todays planned schedule;

July 25th - Departs RAF Brize Norton @ 15:00
July 25th - Sunderland Airshow (display @ 16:00)
July 25th - East Fortune Airshow (display @ 16:30)
July 25th - Carlisle Airport (flypast @ 16:50ish)
July 25th - Kirkbride Airfield (flypast @ 16:55ish)
July 25th - Windermere Airshow (display @ 17:05)
July 25th - Returns to RAF Brize Norton @ 18:00

Kind regards,
-=Glyn=-

The main u/c doors have been causing trouble on the Vulcan since 1952 (first flight in fact) so it's no surprise.

Glad you could make it Rod, was a great day weather wise for it too!

I was sat on the Belsfield Hotel lawn watching it, and there was a chap next to me with a scanner and a Lancashire accent and curiosity got the better of me so I asked him if was called Rod!
He replied 'No, im called Dave' haha!

Definitely not me - I'm from down south - only been in these northern parts for 20 years!

Anyway, we were on a hillock overlooking the lake - very beautiful. The show was definitely a case of quality, not quantity. From 2 to 5.15, 6 aircraft!  Still, great day out.
