Far far far far north of Scotland

I always thought I was probably the most northerly Radarbox location in Scotland.  Today I'm now seeing network aircraft north of Orkney, so someone else up here must also have a Radarbox now.  Who are you?!!

Tarbat, fancy letting somebody be further north than you. I thought the world stopped when you got to your house :-)

No, that's probably the fishing nets being dried - or the flagpole.  My antenna is in the loft - it gets just a bit too windy up here to risk external aerials!!!

Well, whoever it is, they're probably based around Wick.  They're currently picking up this Bristows helicopter at 700ft near Wick airport.  Who are you?

Hi, where do you get the highly detailed outlines of UK etc from?
Was 32 NM SSW of YPPH.......where the sun shines.
Previously 31NM NNW of EGCC....where it didn't shine!
Now back near EGCC, Oh, how I miss the sun!!!

Looks like the user further north of me is regularly contributing the the network now.   It's making the real-time network even more attractive for me now.

Someone on a regular ferry between the Islands perhaps?

How have you managed to get different ATC boundaries in your area?

I'm a RB newbie

Hi, Just started the forum recently and found your post about someone being north of you in Scotland.

It's us in Orkney.

We started receiving aircraft on the 9th June but at first we weren't switched on so much of the day but now we are on from 6am ish most days until 10 or 11 pm. We do get some interesting flights up here- like the Emirates A380 about Shetland and one A380 on a test flight, The Antonov 225 and several Antonov 124. Usually get around 200 flights per day but can be either side of that.

We have a radar extender aerial so do get reasonable range (North of England and up to the Faroes).

Hope this clears up the mystery and Merry Christmas to all.

Claire & Andrew (son)
