President Obama ?
« on: June 04, 2009, 07:52:42 PM »
Hello,

I had the following aircraft reported tonight :

ADFEB8  S4333                    98-0002 B752  USA - Air Force      2009/06/04 20:50:36

I suppose that it was President Obama on his flight from Kairo to Dresden ?

Thanks for your answer

Hosch

Obama flies in ADFDF8 " Air Force 1"    82-8000 VC-25A(B747)

...98-0002 is a C-32A (B757) and was on a SAM flight(I think this went  westbound out over BCN- STU about an hour ago)

SAM = Special Air Missions  (VIP flight President, vice-president and senior figures)

These are carried out by 89th Airlift wing at Andrews Airforce Base, see there own website

and more FYI.... the back up plane for the president uses the 'SAM' callsigns also.
Someone else might know what backup aircraft that is usually is.  I think most of the time it's B757.  The other 747 been in maintenance/upgrade for a few months in Seattle.

The follwoing plane followed the presidential aircraft. Maybe backup plane having Mrs. Obama onboard ? French newspaper "le parisien" reports they arrived on different planes .
