This is  the first attempt - received ANRB today at midday - setup using supplied antenna  mounted on a  biscuit tin (full of gravel) -tin stood on flat roof  just outside  window.ANRB is on Window sill about 10 feet  from PC (used USB extenders)

height above surrounding ground  no more than 8 feet. building is  approx 400ft amsl on the  N  sside of Torquay - looking  directly across Lyme Bay towards the east.Land rise  behind (West)steeeply for another 100-150 feet  hence the sharp cutoff  of range  in that direction.

So far it has  logged over 500 flights.

Am very pleased with performance so far - now planning  to jack the antenna  up a  few feet - that  hopefully will help with the western sector a  little.

What a difference  a couple of feet more height and a decent (MD1105 GP) antenna makes.....
