Hi Levery

Most light aircraft, Embraer and similar regional airliners, and helicopters don't broadcast their position, and will therefore never appear on the map.

Many do broadcast a Mode-S code possibly along with their altitude and flight ID, and RB should be picking them up, so they will appear on the list but not on the map.

The next version of the RB software will pick up more of these than the current version does - watch this space!

Hope that helps.

Yes i do understand that they won't appear on the map, but many of them don't show up on the list. I see one but don't see the other even though i can see them in front me, it's not a big deal just was wondering why. Thanks for the quick response.

Those aircraft will be the ones that do not have a transponder fitted at all or do not have it turned on.  Many GA types and the odd mil type are not even equipped with a transponder.

Sounds intriguing.

Do you mean that RB will pick up some aircraft that it doesn't pick up at all at the moment, or simply that it will pick up more data on the aircraft it already picks up (e.g. flight IDs that aren't currently being decoded) ?

V2.10 doesn't pick up more aircraft, but does pickup FlightIDs for more aircraft.  And route lookup for those FlightIDs.

That makes sense - I thought the suggestion that it would pick up more aircraft was too good to be true  :-)

Yes, as Tarbat says, V2.1 will pick up more Flight ID's, not more aircraft - we've already discussed this here: http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1372.0
