Hi Paul,

well it looks like you can at least establish a connection with your mail provider.

Did you try again to open a dos window and type

telnet mail.airnavsystems.com 25

and

telnet mail.airnavsystems.com 110

? What happens?

Please also do the following:

Open a dos window and type:

nslookup

your server and IP will appear. Now behind the ">" type

set type=mx

next another ">" will appear. Behind type:

mail.airnavsystems.com

what is the output?

The first two telnet commands are to detect whether any ports may be blocked, the nslookup is to check whether there might be a rare fault in the mail-address entries.

Regards,

Markus

Hi Markus,

I got in touch with me internet provider and they do not block port 25.

The four following images are the results of your instructions.  Please note that I am going through my router at this point.

"Did you try again to open a dos window and type

telnet mail.airnavsystems.com 25"........see image dos1

"telnet mail.airnavsystems.com 110

? What happens?"........see image dos2

"Open a dos window and type:

nslookup"........see image dos3

"your server and IP will appear. Now behind the ">" type

set type=mx

next another ">" will appear. Behind type:

mail.airnavsystems.com

what is the output?"........see image dos4

Hope this helps Markus!  Once again thanks for your help.

Let me know what all this means to you.

Paul

Hi.

thanks for your help again.

Next, Í can give you the following details.

- I've set the firewall off.
- I've set Internet explorer as default
- I don't see the thumbnails... that is true.

In the previous version, it works perfect. The software works has no further problems.... only the photo problem

Hi Paul,

try to change your DNS-Server(-address). Looks like you don't get any mail exchanger records so you can't establish a smtp-connection. Then try again. This time it should work. Maybe try some open DNS-Servers if you don't have alternatives with your provider.

Regards,

Markus

EDIT:

With new DNS-Server address output should look like this:

> set type=mx
> mail.airnavsystems.com
Server:  UnKnown
Address:  192.168.123.254

airnavsystems.com
        primary name server = ns1.theplanet.com
        responsible mail addr = root.ns1.theplanet.com
        serial  = 2007090801
        refresh = 900 (15 mins)
        retry   = 900 (15 mins)
        expire  = 86400 (1 day)
        default TTL = 86400 (1 day)

Sorry Henk,

No idea why this isn't working.  You've got the photos in the /Data/Photo/ directory so they are being downloaded and RB is working OK otherwise.

Hi Markus,

I tried changing my DNS setting with my local provider.  I'm not sure if I was doing it right but I had no luck.

Next I went to OpenDNS and set up an account with them.  The image below is what I get after using the nslookup command.

I still can't send any reports and Radarbox keeps giving me the following message

'Could not connect to SMTP server to send auto-report'

Have we solved any pieces of the puzzle yet?

Paul

Hi Paul,

yes the puzzle is almost done ;) The openDNS server did not work with me either.

From my little knowledge we eliminated almost all possible traps.

I looked for a free DNS (in germany) it's address is 193.101.111.10
This DNS-Server has a MX record for mail.airnavsystems.com. Put this as your DNS-Server as you did with open DNS. Then try the now well-known procedures ;) - it should give you a nslookup MX-output and you should connect to mail.airnavsystems.com per telnet command and port 25. It also should work with the Radarbox software.

I'm still thinking about what you should do if it works, as you should use a DNS-server to which you are very good connected to avoid long response times.

Regards,

Markus

Henk,

How many .dab files do you have in the /AirNav RadarBox 2007/Data/ directory and what are their names?

Hello,

I've a couple of .dab files in the map. names are: D001.dab, D001C.dab, D003.dab D004.dab and D010.dab

I've also another question: How can I set a map as a default map?? Every time I start I get a worldwide map and I've to re-open my preferred map again and again...

thanks in advance

Just save it as default.mp3, when asked for confirmation, answer yes.

Henk,

The only way I could stop the thumbnail pictures appearing was to remove the D001.dab file.  As you have this file, again I do not know why you cannot see the thumbnails.

I have 8 .dab files in the AirNav RadarBox 2007/Data/ directory.  Not sure what you mean when you say the "map"

D001.dab
D001C.dab
D003.dab
D003C.dab
D004.dab
D004C.dab
D010.dab
D010C.dab

Do you think that you might have deleted some files?

Hi Markus,

I have been away for a couple of days.  I will try your suggestion tomorrow.  Right now there is something wrong with my router and I can't connect to the internet with it.  It won't even let me access the config utility.  I've done something to it, I don't know what.  When I try to access the config utility I get a screen pop up that asks me to enter "Recovery Micro Code".  I've never seen this screen before and it refers to The Home Gateway.  Whatever that is?  I have a US Robotics router.
