Just moved standard antenna outside....
« on: April 24, 2009, 04:35:06 PM »
I have had my Radarbox for a few weeks now and have just located the supplied antenna on top of a dissued flue on our house with a 360 horizon view.  My polar diagram so far is attached.

Would a 3rd party external antenna give more range (not that I am complaining about my current set up)?

TIA

You certainly might get a few more; a 360 horizon view is ideal.
I do think over time the supplied antenna will degrade in performance
because of the outdoor elements, I am sure you all ready know that.

Enjoy!

Wouldn't have thought you needed it. As kdt1 said though weather is the big problem. Although the supplied aerial is good outside, it will deteriorate in time especially around the connectors.
