Living in Rural Lincolnshire, not far from Scampton or Waddington and getting occaisional aircraft from Coningsby I guess about 1/3 to 1/2 my aircraft on live flights are military.
I have had in the last two days Hurricane LF363 and the Dakota (C47) of the Battle of Britain Flight as well as other interesting military types including two Russian Airforce Aircraft.
We recently had the big Antonov in and out of Doncaster RobinHood as well.
Pity we can't track the military stuff better. Interestingly the Red Arrows don't have a signal when they fly and don't appear on the screen or in the log.

It normally uses Farnborough, as was the case today.

Hi Dave had him here also in NI so  I assume he headed across the pond?

Maybe not my log time might have been him going to Heathrow.

Something which has just occurred to me about the milair machines I see on my setup. I routinely see multiple tankers from the US military (KC10 and K35R mainly, four distinct aircraft in the past two days), but much less often any acft that would make use of them. In the same time frame (two days), 3 distinct C17s (all US Mil) and one Canforce machine with no info (C2B00D). I don't even know if C17s are set up for in-air refueling (doubt it).

I should look up C2B00D and also try to find that refueling track map I've seen on the web (maybe at milaircomms, can't recall) and see if I'm (or my box's range is) at the end of a track or something.

C-17s and C-5s can be refuelled in-flight. Above the windscreens of these ac you can see the guide lines to help the boom operator guide the boom into the receptacle.

USAF tankers carry out AAR on almost a daily basis with various NATO aircraft around our shores and out in the Atlantic. KC-135R BLUE11 this afternoon came down the East Coast having refuelled two GAF Tornadoes on its way across the pond.

Not overly rare but just had 2 USAF C130's in quick succession heading 105 at around FL230

92-0554 "RAVEN 43" (ADFE89)
93-1039 "REACH 218" (ADFDB9)

Both droning away to their hearts content shining nicely in the evening sun!

Just a quick heads up to anyone east of EGCC
