Hi Guys i was wondering can you add your own photos of aircraft to the Database?

Yes you can Daz. You need to use an appropriate photo resized to 200 x 150 (max). This should be renamed xxxx.jpg where xxxx is the serial number of the aircraft in the AR column of Database Explorer. This is then stored in the folder \Data\Photo. Now go to airliners.net or another photo database and find a photo of the aircraft. Copy and paste the URL of the page into the LK column of Database Explorer.

Thanks Tom, so if ive got the photos of the aircraft do i then need to upload them to a site or can i do it straight from my pc?

To see the larger photo you would have to upload it to a website and enter the URL (address) of the site and photo in the LK column.

Daz,

You can view pictures on your PC without having to upload them to a website.  Just put the file link into the LK or LK2 fields using Database Explorer.

Here is an example for a photo b17.jpg stored on my C: drive

file:///C:/b17.jpg

or a more complicated link

file:///D:/My%20Pictures%20Drive%20D/Cosford%20Air%20Show%202006/DSC_1473.JPG

The best way to get the link is to use your Internet Browser, Open File and navigate to where your photo is.  Open it in your Browser and then copy the address link into LK or LK2
