We can't give an exact update as the development is still ongoing and we want to make sure its perfect (or as close as humanly possible) so we don't want to push for a deadline.

However we hope to have betas out to our beta team within 4 to 8 weeks. Once its in beta it should quickly progress to a public beta or the final version.

However I must stress these are approx dates, it all depends how the beta goes and whether any extra features need to be added.

Is there a list anywhere, that users can view, of Known problems with the current version of RB software?
It would help to explain some 'funnies' with the system - such as the Spoofing GulfStreams.
Based in Hexham - Tyne Valley
Best view for RB is North of a line between EGNT and EGNC  - includes OTA and Spade, to EGPH above 7500ft.   Can be TRUE mobile with Mobile Broadband feed to Network.

Hi, thinking of buying RB, but with talk of new version, is it worth it at the mo? Is new version a software or hardware update?

Thanks :o)

Hi darkskies74

The new version is a software package, it installs in a separate folder by defaul.
So in buying now or lather, it will always be the same regarding to the version.

I bought my first of 3 RBs just at the time it was released... the second lather, the 3rd at 08/2008 ... all three are running RadarBox 2009, last release.

So You do not need to worry with this.

Best Regards - Juan

I'd love to see some kind of RSSI feature on the new software - I think received signal strength, even generally, if possible would be a big self-help feature in placement and operation of the RB.

But maybe I'm just crazy too.

Received signal strength is not possible. I assume you mean signal strength per message per aircraft received. Would be nice for some application to try and determine where Mode-S aircraft might be but the RadarBox hardware does not record the signal strength.

darkskies74,

As juangelb says, its the a software update and its free to all customers and you will be able to download it. So no need to wait :)

Hi DS74, I'm sure you won't regret it!   I see from another post, you have an AOR8000 scanner, I was recently passed this link, which you may want to save for future (or present!) reference.

It would help if I put the link in:-
