Brisbane, welcome back!

Not teaching you to suck eggs :-)

- Are you right clicking on the correct USB device, the AirNav RadarBox entry in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section of the Hardware Device Manager?

If so, then:

- are you going to the correct drivers folder, that is the one with the new FTDIBUS.inf and FTDIBUS.sys files

ADS-B is not switched off when on the ground but it goes to a different data mode, which must be decoded by a different decoding scheme. If you don't see planes on the ground then something is wrong with the decoder.

Actually there are trials undergoing as in Vienna that use ADS-B/Mode-S data for traffic control on the ground.

RadarBox does pick up ground signals. You can have a look at the network as there is always a few being picked up somewhere.

Its likely your line of sight once the aircraft lands is restricted and hence you may not get solid messages and just the occasion details.

Also in some places such as Heathrow they seem to have a habit of disappearing from ADS-B all together as soon as the aircraft touches down.

Hi allocator, hav'nt got the Airnav Radarbox symbol on the USB controllers. I did have it when I first tried to install the patch, but has now dissapeared. From previous posts this does seem to happen.

Brisbane,

Confirm that you have the RadarBox "box" plugged in to the USB port.  It has to be connected to do the upgrade.  If you can't see it, it might be a "return to AirNav" job.

Hi allocator, the Radarbox is plugged in correctly, and all drivers are to the same values as your's. Don't know why the Radarbox USB icon vanished after 1st try, any ideas AirNav support?

Brisbane,

If you can't see the AirNav RadarBox in the Device Manager, then you can't tell what drivers you have installed.  You might have the same DRIVER INSTALLATION FILES, but unless you can right click on AirNav RadarBox in Device Manager and select Properties, you can't see what drivers that device is using.

With the Device Manager open, unplug your RB and plug it into a DIFFERENT USB port, does it then appear in the Device Manager list?

Brisbane,

As Allocator says try sticking it into a different USB port and tells us whether it finds it and what it describes the device as.

I have tried sticking the USB cable into all spare sockets, still does'nt register AirNav box. I have 5 USB ports, 4 are listed as USB Root hubs + 1 other under Other devices USB<-> Serial with a yellow query sign, which i suspect the Radarbox is hiding behind.

Guy,
I have downloaded Version 1.2. Updated the driver but when I ran the firmware updater, I just get a message "Opening Radar Box" then a box which says "Version 0.91.0, Update Version: 1.01.2." then nothing happens. Any ideas please?
Pat.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, firmware update was there but was quicker than expected.
I now have new firmware - split view with height screen (can that be turned off?)
But, even though I can see aircraft via the network, I can not get my own.
I have both blue/white light flashing 1 per second but twice every five seconds.
Any ideas pls?
Pat
