Help with FTP Upload Please
« on: February 17, 2009, 01:40:37 PM »
Hi all, I'm currently trying to set up my Radarbox feed onto my friends' website, so far, between us, we've set it up so it should work, sadly, it doesn't.

Here's the settings we're using...username and password are different to the real thing, but otherwise it's right.

Username: USERNAMEHERE
Password: PASSWORDHERE
Host: ukmil.org.uk
Port: 21
Folder: /httpdocs/radarbox/

This is on a Windows 2003 server, using Plesk and IIS. The FTP account has full read/write permissions, with the home directory set at /httpdocs/

Can anyone spot any issues from that, or do you need more?

Cheers,
Jonjo

What problem have you got? Getting it to the server or displaying it on a webpage?

How are you entering the folder name in Radarbox?  I found that I had to leave off the leading and trailing slashes - so htdocs/shot in my case, or httpdocs/radarbox in your case.

Jonjo,

The host name does not look right to me. That is your friend's domain name. You need to put the name of the server that hosts that domain in the 'Host' box.

Dont' know what else to suggest.  Maybe you need to put ftp in front of ukmil.org.uk, to give ftp.ukmil.org.uk.

Attached picture shows what my ftp upload setup looks like.

Maybe find any error messages being issued when you're trying to upload.

Jonjo,

Have you checked out the FAQ here:

http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?topic=1385.0

I suggest that you use an FTP program to connect to your web host and actually see the folder structure on the server.  I use WSFTP Pro, but there are free FTP programs out there.

If you can't FTP to the host, then this might be a clue that you are doing something wrong.  If you can FTP and you can see the scree shot where you think that it should be, then you are getting close :-)

If you look at http://ukmil.org.uk/radarbox/ which is where you are trying to load the screen shot to, there are files there, but not the RadarBox file.

Jonjo,

I still can't see your screen shot at that address.  I see:

lindex.php
LM_REPORT.rtf
S4.png

and that is all.
