1.) In your RadarBox 2007 Folder, do you have any other folders other than:

Color, Data, Drivers, Exported, Filter, Log, Map, Out, Recorder, Temp?

2.) What are creation times of ftd2xx.dll and rb.dll in that folder?

3.) What is the driver version and date in your Device Manager?

Just check that you have the same files as me in your AirNav RadarBox 2007/Drivers directory.  Check the file sizes and dates to make sure they are the same.

It could not find the driver .SYS file where it said it should be

The FTDIBUS.sys file is one of the new files downloaded with the upgrade.  It is one of the files that should be copied to the AirNav RadarBox 2007/Drivers directory.

During the driver upgrade, using "have disk", Windows first aks where the FTDIBUS.inf file is, it then asks where the FTDIBUS.sys file is.

You need both of these files to install the driver.  I've just reinstalled the driver and it installs without any problem.

I succeeded in running the 1.1 hardware upgrade and after that performed the 1.2 one. Still no right led blinking.

This may also help my problem as look at No3 !


1.  All folders correct.  (files correct as per Allocator image also)
2.  ftd2xx.dll   Created: 8 Sept 2007 18:51  Modified 1 Aug 2007   Version: 3.1.14.2   
2.  rb.dll   Created & Modified:  28 Aug 2007 19:38 Version:  1.1.2.0

3.  (remember Device manager is only shown USB Serial Convertor
2.0.0.0  Dated 19/05/2006  Provider FTDI


No 3 is got me.....   As when asked for driver its getting pointed to the new files!


Extra:  In Add remove programmes the entry for drivers is not Airnav Drivers its
FTDI USB Serial Convector Drivers

Yes exactly, what I thought, you have not installed the latest driver.

As Allocator say above you should have put the patch drivers files into the drivers folder. Then during the update driver proccess you need to point to that.

This does not work

Why, following the instructions on going to device manager and updating you end up with "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware"

Tell me how to do it from having nothing installed (Software or Drivers)

In the folder that you are pointing to? Can you tell us the files and when they were created?

Too easy, as I said I followed the instruction and more...

I will remove the driver AGAIN (as I did before once using the windows Uninstall driver and once time by picking the 5 related files from the windows/system32 and driver directory), it DID put the driver files in the Airnav drivers directory. I DID point to them when installing.

But I will run the process all over.

So, after running the process all over my answer to 3 remains the same. So how do I get rid of the old drivers haunting me...

Run the AirNav RadarBox 2007 software. Click start and go to the Help menu, About box. Check the firmware version you have installed.

To all users: note that the RadarBox 2007 V1.2 software will only work with the last firmware installed. It will not work with the previous firmware version. Also the new firmware needs the new drivers. The HW//SW disconnection issue was caused by the old firmware and drivers so they really need to be updated.
